The role
The Hutchins School is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Rowing Boat Shed Manager to oversee the maintenance, repair and organisation of rowing equipment and facilities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in boat repair and maintenance, as well as experience working with coaches and athletes to ensure the safe and effective use of equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of the rowing equipment, including boats, oars and other accessories.
- Ability to tow boat trailers.
- Co-ordinate the use of the Boat Shed with coaches and athletes to ensure that equipment is available when needed and stored properly when not in use.
- Maintain a thorough inventory of all equipment and ensure that it is properly labelled and stored.
- Manage the Boat Shed budget (with the Director of Rowing) and ensure that resources are used effectively and efficiently.
- Train and supervise rowing shed staff in the proper care and maintenance of equipment.
- Work collaboratively with coaches and athletes to identify equipment needs and develop plans for new purchases or repairs.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations governing the use of rowing equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organised Boat Shed that reflects the professionalism of The Hutchins School rowing program.
- Other duties as assigned.
