RUBBER LINING PROFESSIONAL

Motherson Elastomers provides specialised process equipment for the mining industry throughout Australia. We are searching for an experienced rubber liner for our production facility located in Bendigo Victoria. This is a new project and is an opportunity for a professional to come in at the beginning and make the role your own as you work with our project team.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

• Surface preparation of rubber and metal materials
• Rubber lining various items from chutes to pipes & valves
• Ability to cut thin and thick rubber by hand 
• Ensure all equipment is maintained & stored in good working condition
• Ability to cut and line complicated shapes
• Promote safety by working and adhering to company safety guidelines which includes (but is not limited to) the proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment, materials and the use of personal protective gear
• Maintaining a safe, clean & hygienic working environment
• Ensure RUBBER LINING activities are safely performed by using correct methods according to the materials/equipment/machinery used
• Oversee and guide standard operating procedures and participate in quality control testing processes

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• A professional, proactive and flexible hands-on approach to work
• Experience in both cold & hot vulcanization RUBBER LININGs
• Competence in the use of grinders, buffers and rubber working tools & equipment
• Ability to apply RUBBER LININGs to pipes, spools, launders, agitator blades, chutes, tanks, valves, hoppers and similar items
• The ability to read and follow drawings
• Attention to detail with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment
• Fully competent with the operation of autoclaves for all rubber compounds such as nitrile, hypalon, bromobutyl and ebonite
• Ability to estimate and quote RUBBER LINING projects
• Ability to work overtime as required

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Licenses and qualifications to operate plant as required; current forklift license and crane operations
• Operating a variety of plant, machinery and equipment including overhead cranes, winches, forklifts and hand tools as per procedures and specifications
