One that is equitable and prioritises Learning and wellbeing.Together we will make our education system the best it can be.When our children and young people thrive, so do our communities and our state.About the roleThe Learning and Teaching Directorate is responsible for leading the delivery of contemporary and contextualised learning design pedagogy and assessment practice, to improve the capability of teachers to design meaningful and challenging learning in their local context.The Director, Learning and Teaching will lead a multidisciplinary team, providing strategic direction to drive and ensure achievement of significant and critical operational initiatives, regarding:

• The design of learning to enact the SA Curriculum
• Impactful pedagogical practices
• Effective formative assessment approaches
• The provision of policy support to the Minister, Chief Executive and Executive Directors regarding South Australia’s contribution to national teaching and learning initiatives.

Qualifications and competencies:

• Extensive experience as an education leader directing programs and partnerships for a large organisation of strategic importance.
• An appropriate tertiary qualification including post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline desirable or relevant experience.
• Deep understanding of the Areas of Impact and the implications for curriculum, pedagogy and assessment.
• Highly developed interpersonal and relationship building skills with demonstrated success establishing networks and working collaboratively to achieve outcomes.

Special Conditions:The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry.
