Safety And Risk Lead

Primary role

The Safety and Risk Lead will work as part of a small team in the Business Services unit under the Director of Business Services.

The Safety and Risk Lead will be required to provide an advisory and support role in the implementation of health, Safety and environment management systems and ensure that the processes align with the requirements of NT Christian Schools. You will take the lead in developing and fostering a positive health and safety culture within our system and campuses while providing practical solutions to ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation to minimise risks and prevent injuries.

The Safety and Risk Lead will also ensure the development of enterprise risk management of the NT Christian Schools Strategic Plan focusing on quality and continuous improvement.

This position supports the Facilities team in the development and implementation of effective data management systems and upkeep.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the development of a safety culture and rigorous systems for safety management, oversight, assurance and continuous improvement
• Develop and implement effective and consistent WHS management systems and processes that reflect the changing role of education and are consistent with current policies.
• Analysis of data to promote a proactive approach to safety management
• Oversee the WHS register and associated reporting to the Board and Principals.
• Manage WHS/hazard training and audits across the organisation
• Strategically develop and communicate an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework to ensure comprehensive risk identification, mitigation and controls across the organisation.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes to adapt risk management strategies accordingly.
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining records, databases, electronic filing of all facilities admin including BGA application to completion across our schools.
• Maintain a preferred contractor database as well maintaining records of any new major contracts and business proposals.
• Ensure that service provision is customer focussed and professionally and effectively conducted, and contribute to an integrated team approach and culture which is highly responsive to the needs of internal and external clients.
