🌟 Join Our Team as Safety and Wellbeing Manager! 🌟 

Are you passionate about ensuring safety across community services? Do you thrive in implementing cutting-edge strategies that promote wellbeing and compliance? Communities at Work is seeking a dynamic Safety and Wellbeing Manager to lead our safety initiatives! 

Your Role 

  • As our Safety and Wellbeing Manager, reporting to the Senior Manager Risk Governance and Compliance, you'll be tasked with ensuring safety, health, and Wellbeing across all our Communities at Work sites and business areas, providing expert advice to senior managers and staff. Develop and implement innovative safety strategies aligned with our organisational goals, assessing risks, safety training, incident investigations, and Wellbeing programs: 
  • Develop and execute safety plans that align with organisational objectives, ensuring compliance with all relevant WHS legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and standards. 
  • Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating workplace hazards, including psychosocial risks, through comprehensive risk assessments. Implement effective control measures to eliminate or minimise these risks. 
  • Develop safety training programs, incident investigations, and Wellbeing initiatives to foster a positive safety culture. Develop comprehensive safety and Wellbeing campaigns and workshops that resonate with our diverse teams. 
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of safety systems and processes. Identify areas for improvement and implement innovative solutions in line with the latest developments in safety and Wellbeing
  • Conduct investigations into workplace incidents, compile reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences. Manage and coordinate responses to regulatory bodies. 
  • Maintain emergency response plans and procedures working with providers to ensure regular drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency measures. 
  • Drive the development and implementation of wellbeing initiatives, focusing on psychosocial risks, mental health, stress management, work-life balance, and healthy lifestyles.  

Essential Qualifications and Experience: 

  • A degree or diploma in Work, Health and Safety or a related field. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the WHS legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and standards, particularly in relation to psychosocial hazards and risks.  
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in developing, implementing, and reviewing safety and Wellbeing strategies, policies, procedures, and programs, including psychosocial risk management. 
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in establishing and maintaining effective relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in managing incident reporting, investigation, and resolution, injury management and return to work, and safety and Wellbeing data analysis and reporting. 
  • Demonstrated experience and skills in conducting and facilitating audits, inspections, and reviews, and identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement and innovation. 
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, with a commitment to ethical and respectful behaviour. 
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software and systems. 
  • Maintain unrestricted and current “Working with Vulnerable People” registration. 
  • Current drivers’ licence. 

Desirable 

  • Previous experience managing workers compensation cases 
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
