Experience Gold Coast
On 1 September 2023, HOTA has joined Experience Gold Coast, a super entity which combined HOTA, Study Gold Coast, Destination Gold Coast, Placemakers* and Major Events Gold Coast in an exciting new chapter that will see the city’s tourism, events, education, arts and culture portfolios working as one organisation focused on delivering exceptional outcomes for the city.
The position
Reporting to the Head of Ticketing, this role leads and supports the Box Office team to deliver exceptional customer experiences and support all functional transactions and processes.
Leveraging from communication skills and an understanding of sales functions, you will ensure sales targets for HOTA are met across precinct, working with event promotors to deliver an exceptional customer experience, whilst also driving engagement via HOTA memberships.
You will bring a high level of attention to detail and apply this to the administration of programs including utilising HOTA’s CRM to maintain records, input data, process financial transactions, issue membership cards and ticketing sales.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Being the front line leader of the box office team, ensuring effective communication to deliver operational outcomes.
- Surpassing patrons and client’s expectations of customer service, including the handling of customer complaints.
- Assisting with the overall operation of the box office and the ordering, sale and accounting for all tickets sold for events in the precinct.
- Utilising technology provided by Home of the Arts including ticketing (Tessitura), payroll and rostering (Humanforce) and Microsoft Office Suite, to ensure a smooth and efficiently run box office.
- Management of day-to-date operations including sales transactions, show builds and ticketing services.
- Process Box Office reconciliation and end of day reporting.
The HOTA Precinct is a 7-day operation and there will be a requirement to work some evenings and weekends in this role.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience supervising a small team.
- Previous experience operating a computerised Box Office Ticketing system.
- A high level of written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail including the ability to effectively communicate with a range of different audiences.
- Self-motivated, with good organisational skills.
- Ability to maintain high level of record keeping and supporter information.
- Effective administration and computer skills, including MS office suite and Tessitura.
- Ticketing and sales training and/or qualifications are highly desirable
