What you'll be doing
The purpose of the Scientific Officer position is to perform Respiratory Function Investigations and Allergen skin prick testing as requested. The position requires the ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment and cope with high workloads. Problem solving skills and an ability to work with children and encourage them to participate in highly effort dependant tests is required.
In addition to the performance of Pulmonary Function testing and Allergen skin prick testing the position includes participation in all laboratory QA programs, some administrative work, assisting in policy documentation, teaching of medical students and research staff and a commitment to professional development in regards to all aspects of lung function testing.
- BSc or equivalent, or working towards BSc or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a busy clinical environment
- Ability to liaise with parents and work with children
- Computer literacy and familiarity with Software used for Respiratory Function tests
- Expertise with complex Lung Function studies including, Spirometry, Lung Volumes, Cardiopulmonary Exercise Tests and Multiple Breath Nitrogen washout.
