About the Position:
Progress Rail are looking for an experienced Rail Track Engineer who is customer focused and has a flair for finding opportunities to grow in Track activities. We would base this role in a central Perth location for both metropolitan, country and Heavy Haul customers in Western Australia.
This includes:
Provide first response Engineering support to customers through personal engineering work and liaising with specialists in our Engineering hub. This will involve consultation with customers to problem solve, investigate and advise the most effective solutions to their specific track issues. Then develop tight engineering specifications to create the lowest cost manufactured product that meets the customer's needs.
Create opportunities for the organisation's growth through the generation of new business within the metropolitan area and broader Western Australia and support and grow existing markets. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients in core business activities and in developing associated business streams. This includes response to all Tenders and Enquiries and direct promotion of Progress Rail's Engineering & Track Services business product lines covering Track, Fasteners and Maintenance of Way to Western Australian customers and business forums.
Complete all aspects of associated Commercial requirements including Estimation, RFQ Responses, Sales Orders and Project Management.
Experience:
- A strong successful background within the rail industry.
- Proven working experience as an engineer, business development manager, sales, project management or a relevant role with more than 10 years Rail Infrastructure experience.
- Extensive knowledge of track infrastructure products and function.
- Previous and ongoing experience in a new business development function
- Ideally has developed strong relationships with Government and Private track owners, Rail Contractors from Tier 1 though to minor maintenance and inspection contractors.
Qualifications & Training:
- Professional Engineer with relevant Degree.
- Working knowledge of PC applications - MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, Customer Relationship Management databases (Sales Force and Microsoft Dynamics 365 - desirable).
- Extensive knowledge of the product's parts and functions and must understand the technical processes that make our products work.
