Security Operations Officer

Your new role 

You will be working as a Security Operations Officer for a state-owned company that operates and manages various transport and infrastructure facilities across Tasmania. You will be part of the team that ensures the continued operations of the company through the State Operations Centre (SOC), which provides around the clock monitoring and management of regulatory compliance and emergency escalation services.

Key Duties

• Monitor and assure the company’s regulatory compliance of people and activities across all sites, including maritime security, customs, biosecurity, cargo terminal operations, and first points of entry requirements
• Manage access control of people and vehicles at the company’s facilities on a state-wide basis, including visitors, civilian and defence crews
• Conduct routine virtual security patrols of all sites, including ports, airport and corporate offices, and escalate and manage any issues identified
• Respond appropriately to alarms, suspicious activity, evidence of criminal activity, and report to the relevant authorities
• Support site emergency responses and emergency services with situational awareness, communication and coordination as required
• Undertake administrative tasks associated with the risk and resilience department as requested
• Maintain integrity, professionalism and information privacy compliance in all activities

What you'll need to succeed 

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A relevant qualification or experience in Security Operations or risk management
• A high level of communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
• A strong commitment to safety and quality
• A willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and public holidays
