Overview

We are looking for Security/Orderly Team Leaders to oversee security services for Riverland General Hospital and Murray Bridge Soldiers Memorial Hospital.

As the Team Leader, Security/Orderly Services you are responsible for ensuring that security services are provided and services maintained to appropriate standards in an efficient and effective manner.  You will also coordinate security activities, schedule workloads, resolve operational problems, monitoring the quality of work produced and guide and assist staff in providing a quality security service.

When required the Team Leader, Security/Orderly Services will also provide a range of duties encompassing security, patient care and using correct methods, materials and equipment which contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the Health Unit.

The security aspect of the role necessitates assisting with clients, in such a manner as to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone involved in accordance with the Hospital's policies and procedures, this includes having to deal with aggressive or agitated clients. As a member of the team, you will assist with de-escalation within the Health Unit.

Eligibility

Applicants must have:

  • a current South Australian Security Agent License,
  • demonstrated experience in security roles,
  • experience in the supervision of staff as a Team Leader where you have provided advice to employees on appropriate procedures and safe working practices,
  • experience in determining and appraising methods of work organisation, which includes implementing detailed directions and procedures and assisting in the provision of on-the-job training and maintaining staff rosters,
  • demonstrated experience in dealing with a wide range of people including the de-escalation of violent, aggressive and/or agitated people,
  • experience in the use of computer packages eg. Microsoft 365,
  • demonstrated experience in exercising own judgment and initiative in the day to day execution of a position.
