With the ever-increasing pace of cloud application adoption, companies are struggling to find ways to accurately assess risk and act at the speed of their business.As a Security Intern, you will work closely with our seasoned security professionals to research, detect, investigate, and hunt across threats in Okta's environment. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on security detection and response experience, and the opportunity to learn about real threats that a software-as-a-service company sees on a day to day basis.This is a six month part-time internship based in SydneyResponsibilities
- Researching threats and understanding how systems can be attacked and defended
- Developing custom detections using data analysis, creative thinking and lateral problem solving
- Investigating and responding to anomalies using hypothesis driven problem solving
- Developing and maintaining custom tools to automate detection and response capabilities
- You must be completing your final year of a BS in Information Systems or MIS, or a related degree
- Excited to learn about information security with a focus on Detection Engineering, Cyber Response and Blue Teaming
- A keen interest in defensive cyber capabilities, digital forensics, data analytics and how systems can be compromised
- Knowledge of modern operating systems, cloud computing, SaaS applications or Security Operation Centres (SOCs)
- Knowledge of Python, SQL or Splunk is a bonus
