Job description

My client is a multinational market leader, manufacturing and supplying specialised chemicals to a wide range of industrial clients. With a fantastic international profile, this organization has been an employer of choice for many years. They have manufacturing facilities in most major metro and regional centers. Each regional business balances output to meet regional demand and forms part of a coordinated effort to support other regions as customer orders require. Recently a position became available for a qualified Engineer with HSEQ experience to take on the role of HSEQ Partner across a small number of Sydney based facilities, driving the HSEQ function.
The Role

  • Driving key relationships from management down, you will act as the key advocate and promoter of "Safety First" behaviours and a focus on continuous improvement from a quality perspective.
  • You will own certification compliance activities against relevant standards, reporting, escalating and closing systemic gaps against ISO9001 QMS, ISO45001 OHS, FSSC, ISO22000, PICS/GMP.
  • You will also manage IR Compliance activities
  • Maintain and drive HSEQ related training as well as internal and external inductions
  • You will maintain Risk Registers and Assessments, working to mitigate risk through hazard elimination
  • You will own and manage all incidents, unsafe events or behaviour, driving response, reporting, analysis, actions and closing actions.
  • You will own and drive audit activities in step with internal audit requirements, ensuring compliance, areas for improvement and corrective actions
This role requires a professional with chemical industry experience, coupled with a confident communication style. We seek a professional with the ability and desire to roll up the sleeves. You will have:
  • Bachelors - Engineering
  • Ability to manage difficult stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of HSE legislation and regulations
  • Preferred - Internal Auditor certificate
  • Preferred - Internal Audit experience (1- 3yrs) in QMS, OHS and/or other discipline
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including demonstrated experience at senior leadership level
  • Experience in successfully executing change programs, be the "agent of change"
  • Experience in leading projects
  • Technical knowledge of ISO9001, IOS45001, FSSC, ISO22000, PICs/ GMP certification standards
  • A very high level of attention to detail
