ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
The University of Notre Dame Australia is a private Catholic University with over 1,000 permanent staff providing an exceptional educational experience to over 12,000 students across our Fremantle, Broome, and Sydney campuses, as well as clinical schools in Victoria and New South Wales.  

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Admissions Office is responsible for assessing and processing all applications to study at the University. Reporting to the National Manager Admissions, the Senior Admissions Officer is required to process and evaluate a range of applications lodged with the Admissions Office and to provide a high level of customer service by offering sound and timely advice and assistance to all applicants and University staff.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver high-level administrative support to ensure the effective and efficient running of Admissions Office operations including maintaining a strong relationship with Schools and other relevant teams  
    Provide in-depth and accurate advice and guidance to a variety of audiences, ensuring that they are fully informed regarding the admissions process  
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of applications, including interpretation and evaluation, coordinate the generation of offers and ensure quality control over all communication with applicants  
  • Contribute to the progressive review and refinement of student application and assessment, including the associated workflow and communications  
    Interpret and apply relevant policies, practices and standards to organise and prioritise work, while using initiative and informed judgment to solve problems arising in the work area  
  • Utilise enterprise systems to ensure the timely response to applicant enquires, the secure and accurate recording of student data and for the preparation of reports and other relevant documentation  
  • Assist with training and mentoring staff members within the Admissions team, including in the use of PeopleSoft and other relevant systems and programs  
  • Comply with all other reasonable training and duties as identified by the line manager (or delegate)  
  • Comply with University policies and procedures in all aspects of their work and conduct.


ABOUT YOU 

  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline with several years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in the higher education sector. 
    Demonstrated experience in student admissions, preferably in a University environment  
  • Proven ability to deliver customer focused service in all interactions with current and prospective students, academic staff and other relevant partners to provide an exceptional student experience  
    Proven ability to act with discretion and sensitivity and to maintain confidentiality  
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to plan and prioritise tasking and work within tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment  
  • High-level written and verbal communications skills with evidence of producing clear and concise written communications with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail  
  • Excellent computer literacy and advanced user knowledge in Outlook, Microsoft Office, video-conferencing applications and proficiency in the use of enterprise systems  
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and flexibility in responding to changing work priorities, with the capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team  
  • Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative to constructively solve problems and make effective decisions based on knowledge of policy and procedures, relevant events and strategic priorities.
