About Local Land Services

Local Land Services (LLS) is an Executive Agency related to the cluster. It provides quality, customer-focused services to landholders and the community across New South Wales. This regionally based organisation brings together a wide range of service and advisory functions including agriculture, biosecurity, natural resource management, land management, biodiversity, emergency services and private native forestry.

About the role

South East Local Land Services are keen to hear from highly skilled Agricultural Advisors interested in working from Bega or Moruya. You will deliver Agricultural extension services and support landholders / industry / community groups to manage various agricultural projects across the Bega Valley and Eurobodalla (Far South Coast). The main industries supported are beef, dairy, mixed farming and aquaculture. The role will facilitate a partnership / collaborative approach to drive enhanced knowledge and adoption of best practice sustainable agricultural management.

About You:Our ideal candidate will have:
Strong knowledge of contemporary and emerging trends and issues in agriculture across a diverse range of sectors.
Experience in delivery of extension and / or training programs, specifically related to agriculture or land management.
External relationship management, including partners, stakeholders, funding bodies, landholders and other interest groups.
Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
Advanced project management skills.
Relevant degree in Agriculture, Sustainable Land Management or relevant experience.
Current valid NSW Driver License and the ability and willingness to travel.

You’ll form part of a varied and dynamic regionally dispersed team and provide agricultural advice to a diverse range of South East landholders, from smallholders, newcomers to farming and long-term, multi-generational commercial farmers (predominantly beef and dairy). You will also design and implement a comprehensive extension program across a broad range of agricultural fields in partnership with other stakeholders such as Landcare, Farmers’ Networks and DPI.
