Responsibilities:
The Senior Analytics Engineer will be part of a data science or cross-disciplinary team on commercially-facing development projects, typically involving large, complex data sets. These teams typically include statisticians, computer scientists, software developers, engineers, product managers, and end users, working in concert with partners in GE business units.
Potential application areas include the
- Development and validation of specific FOQA & MOQA event and measurement definitions.
- Identify and trend operational hazards, determine the effectiveness of corrective actions and risk controls.
- Perform specialized safety and maintenance studies and assist with the analysis of data for incident investigation.
- Develop and prepare presentation of flight data, building a story for the customer.
- Responsible for the creation and communication of safety and maintenance relevant content and information.
- Lead or participate in steering committee meetings.
- Work in technical teams in development, deployment, and application of applied analytics, predictive analytics, and prescriptive analytics.
- Perform exploratory and targeted data analyses using descriptive statistics and other methods.
- Work with data engineers on data quality assessment, data cleansing and data analytics.
- Generate reports, annotated code, and other projects artifacts to document, archive, and communicate the work and outcomes. Share and discuss findings with team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation, Aviation Safety or equivalent airline operations experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, or equivalent applied experience with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Commercial Pilot Certificate or Airline Transport Pilot Certificate preferred
- Previous experience maintaining or enhancing aviation safety standards and best practices
- Understands turbine-aircraft systems and operation regarding part 121 and/or part 135 operations preferred
- Knowledge of a statistical processing language (R, Python, or equivalent) preferred
- Knowledge of Safety Management Systems, risk management, and safety reporting
- Knowledge of machine learning modeling, artificial intelligence, and statistical methods for
- Excellent verbal, presentation, and instructional skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in small or large teams
- Knowledge of ADI EMS tools and software preferred
- Visualization and storytelling using tools such as Tableau, Spotfire, and Power BI
