Your new role

As a Senior Data Analytics Engineer, you are primarily responsible for representing key data requirements for our Member domain to support the Funds 2030 growth strategy. This involves tactical and strategic development, delivery, support and maintenance of quality data assets and associated processes that underpins all key data related activities.

You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to solicit relevant data requirements across a wide variety of business teams and prioritise initiatives to help meet the Funds key objectives. Working with Technology you will ensure the design and implementation of each prioritised initiative meets the business requirement and is delivered and supported under a CI/CD model.

Key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Act as subject matter expert in all Member related data.
  • Support Data Science related data processes for Machine Learning model development lifecycle including model maintenance and monitoring (ML Ops/ML Engineering)
  • Perform Data Quality issue identification, investigation and potential remediations from a variety of data interfaces into legacy and the target state Fund Data Platform (FDP).
  • Support data practitioners to source and ingest tactical data into the Analytics Sandbox.
  • Support Data Program delivery - Business Verification Testing / User Acceptance testing of new data delivered on the FDP.
  • Ensure risk is managed in accordance with the Fund's Risk Management Framework including risk identification and management, risk profiling, risk reporting and incident management.
  • Implement strong risk controls on processes, policies, and systems to ensure breaches are limited.

What you'll need

  • 10 years+ data experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Azure essential.
  • Experience within Financial Services and/or Superannuation industry highly advantageous.
  • Post graduate qualifications in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering or related area or equivalent industry experience.
  • Strong experience in data management using languages such as SQL, Python, R.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data warehouse - dimensional modelling, star schemas.
  • Comfortable operating in hybrid Agile ways of working
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across various levels.
  • Project management skills with experience in coordinating multiple projects simultaneously to varying deadlines.
  • Developed written and oral communication skills with the ability to present ideas, perspectives, and issues.

The successful candidate with have 'hands on' technical knowledge within modern data environments on cloud (MS Azure, GCP), with a strong ability to troubleshoot and work with a collaborative mindset to deliver pragmatic solutions in a timely manner. You will be able to quickly adapt to the data landscape at the Fund and understand the contents of legacy data assets and strategic data assets on the FDP.
