Senior architectural / design lead

My client is a specialist design and construct engineering company with a strong local presence in the Victorian market. They provide innovative infrastructure solutions with a focus on customer service and reliability. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking a Senior Architectural Draftsman/Design Lead to join their close-knit, high performing organisation.

The Role

As the Senior Architectural Draftsman/Design Lead your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Lead and manage the drafting team, ensuring high-quality architectural drawings and documents.
• Preliminary design drawings, sketches and concept renders aiding in the preparation of tenders.
• Detailed architectural design drawings, 3D models and fabrication/part drawings and production of engineer led/for construction drawings sets for infrastructure items.
• Provide technical guidance and support to drafting staff, promoting continuous learning and development.
• Coordinate project timelines and resources to meet deadlines and budget constraints.

The Successful Applicant

In order to be successful for this role you will ideally have:

• A passion for drafting, design and 3D visualisation.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural drafting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Previous experience in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Previous experience in bridges, shelters, boardwalks and/or playgrounds will be highly regarded.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
