Live Productions Australia is an industry leader in producing bespoke, creative events. Through our strong client base and AV Alliance membership we work throughout Australia and internationally, providing high-end technical productions for corporate clients. Due to business growth, we are searching for a high-performing and experienced Senior Technician to join our team.
Position Objective:
The role of the Senior Audio Visual Technician is to provide support across a broad range of Audio Visual disciplines, both onsite during event setup, operation and pack down, and also in the office during preparation and planning. This is a rewarding role with the opportunity to lead into a Project Management and Technical Director’s role, as such the applicant would be encouraged to work towards this level and show the qualities required to do so.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Delivery/Setup, Operation and Pack down/Collection of AV equipment
- Preparation and de-preparation of Audio, Vision, Lighting and Staging equipment
- Directly dealing with clients to achieve business outcomes
- Project manage smaller events
- General warehouse and office duties
- Packing and driving trucks and vans
- Train and mentor junior staff
- Take a proactive approach to personal work performance
- Stock control, maintenance and cleaning of equipment
- Maintain and promote a safe and healthy work environment
- Furthering your own knowledge through both inhouse and external training programs
The successful applicant must have:
- An exceptional work ethic with the ability to work autonomously with enthusiasm
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within the AV/ Corporate Events industry in a similar role.
- Experience and confidence managing crew onsite
- The right to work in Australia on an ongoing basis
- A valid passport and a desire to travel for work when required
- No circumstances that prohibit travel to any particular country
- A valid Australian drivers license.
- Ability to work after standard hours and on weekends
- Goals and ambitions to further their career in this industry
- A core skill at a high level of either live Audio, Video or Lighting (at least one is required)
The successful applicant should have:
- High level general computer and IT skills
- Technical understanding of equipment used within the AV Events industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Maturity to deal with people at all levels of an organisation
- Ability to work under pressure with excellent decision making and problem solving skills
- Time management skills; the ability to manage multiple and competing deadlines
- Any industry relevant or additional licenses ( EWP / Rigging / Work at Heights / Forklift/ MR/HR etc. ) will be highly regarded
The package includes a company laptop, uniform, phone allowance and flexible working hours based around your personal situation. We have onsite parking and close proximity to a train station.

Salary: $80,000 to $95,000 /year (dependant on experience) + super
