SalaryFifthDomain is growing and is seeking a Back-end Lead to help our Software Engineering team and broader business with the build, release, and running of applications and technology systems across AWS and other cloud platforms.
Working side by side with other software engineers and data specialists to deliver technical solutions. Interest in cyber security is a plus but not required and you will gain exposure to exciting cybersecurity products and technology.

About You- You're the type of developer that takes code quality seriously and have a scale-up mentality with ambitions to grow with the company.
- You're hot on best practices, code quality and always on the cutting edge of new techs.
- You get that good code makes a great product and that delivering on time is important to meet company goals..
- You're a fully experienced and proven backend engineer with extensive NodeJS skills and ideally have worked on data heavy applications.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Work closely with the Head of Technology and the development team to build and improve our applications.
- Have input in strategising and defining our technical vision. A vision that will help us deliver our products at scale.
- Designing highly scalable services, and writing testable and maintainable code.
- Actively lead and engage in contemporary software engineering practices, including use of coding guidelines, peer code reviews,, knowledge sharing and team development, and by being a vocal supporter of scrum.
- Inspire the continuous improvement of people, processes and technology, including mentoring and coaching junior team members, as required.
- Investigating and using new technologies where relevant.
- Experience with AWS Services
- Senior level experience in building applications in GraphQL, and NodeJs.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL (e.g. Elasticsearch) database technologies.
- Experience with Serverless Computing (e.g. AWS Lambdas)
- Competent with source code control and CI/CD pipeline technologies.
