Qsic is looking for a Senior Python Developer to join our engineering team, which builds, maintains, and supports Qsic’s business intelligence platform used by some of Australia’s most-respected hospitality, retail and quick-service businesses. We are looking for the right person, someone with a focus on building scalable, cloud-native APIs, to join a collaborative team to help build out our current technology stack for the future.

Job Description
THE ROLE
- Writing test-driven Python in a truly Agile environment.
- Building and supporting our backend infrastructure to support our current customer base, as we grow here at home and into other countries.
- Building API’s and management layers for the IOT fleet that powers our customer installations, using Django.
- Working on both existing embedded systems and the implementation of new systems, alongside our IOT team.
- Creating internal tooling for our customer support team.
- Delivering security enhancements to our current API’s and embedded systems.
- Working in cross-functional teams on new project specifications and requirements.
- Helping to design the next iteration of our platform.
- Coaching and mentoring other developers to assist them in integrating new ideas into the current development pipeline.
- Taking ideas and concepts, and turning them into new products and offerings.
- Working with some truly amazing people and having a real impact on the future of Qsic.
ABOUT YOU
- You have 6+ years of commercial back end development, with a solid, demonstrable Python experience; with examples of your work.
- You’ve worked in a Test Driven Development environment (TDD).
- You have working knowledge of CI tools (Jenkins) and Git Flow processes. (Continuous Integration)
- You are someone who stays up-to date with best practices and technologies and can bring these to the development team and management for discussion.
- You have the ability to share and transfer knowledge to peers and more junior developers alike.
- You are self-driven, have excellent attention to detail, and can work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- You communicate clearly and concisely in both spoken and written formats.
- An added bonus, but not essential would be commercial experience working with Django and Django Rest Framework. Also, experience with Raspberry Pi for IoT Device, would be great.
