Although no two days are the same, a Better Rehab Behaviour Support Practitioner will…
- Work with clients with a range of presenting needs including complex care, intellectual disabilities, communication difficulties, mental health, and behaviours of concern.
- Provide high quality specialist care to clients to optimise and improve their health outcomes and psychological wellbeing.
- Undertake comprehensive functional behaviour assessments.
- Assist people in the understanding and adjustments of attitudes, expectations, and behaviour.
- Develop and review individualised, client-centred Behaviour Support plan recommendations, and working within a multidisciplinary team to implement such recommendations.
- Train and support colleagues, providers, and families to implement Behaviour Support plans and related strategies.
- Understand restricted practices and the role of the Quality and Safeguards Commission.
- Provide consultation and supervision to core PBS practitioners working with participants with complex needs.
What do you need to be eligible?
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Allied Health, Psychology, or Applied Behaviour Analysis.
- A minimum four years’ clinical experience.
- Experience working with people who engage in severely challenging behaviours of concern.
- Experience creating BIS plans and report writing.
- A valid drivers’ license.
- Ambition and ability to work in a community setting.
