Our extensive network of houses across Melbourne is managed by dedicated House Team Leaders, ensuring high-quality care with the support of our allied health professionals delivering a transdisciplinary approach. [EC1] Backed by a large team of skilled Support Workers, we are committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities through innovative and personalised care solutions.About the RoleThe role of the Senior Behaviour Practitioner involves conducting comprehensive assessments encompassing psychosocial, forensic, and physical domains, along with detailed observations. Responsibilities include providing training to staff members, developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans, and preparing progress reports. The role also focuses on capacity building among individuals and teams, ensuring effective support and positive outcomes at Crescent Respite. The PBS will have a mixed caseload of participants in the community and Therapeutic houses.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive Functional Behaviour Assessments including FAI, CAI, and MAS-II.
  • Collect and analyse data to deliver concise behavioural analyses.
  • Develop timely interim and Comprehensive Behaviour Support plans, potentially incorporating restrictive practices.
  • Provide training to participants and key stakeholders following plan development.
  • Issue letters of recommendation to support NDIS review processes.
  • Approve clinical reports completed by Behaviour Practitioners.
  • Review and approve specialized assessments conducted for clients managed by Behaviour Practitioners.
Selection Criteria
  • Minimum 5 years’ post qualifying professional practice.
  • Experience and knowledge of working effectively and safely with people living with disability and mental health issues.
  • Extensive experience in the provision of person-centred disability services and high-level knowledge and understanding of the NDIS quality framework required in Disabilities.
  • Advanced clinical skills in the assessment and development of interventions for people with disability.
  • Leadership and senior management experience, including staff, financial and change management and effective resource management.
  • Willing to travel to STA, MTA, SIL & SDA houses and respite facilities across Melbourne.
Mandatory Requirements
  • Bachelor or master’s degree in the relevant field
  • NDIS Screen Check (willing to obtain one)
  • Satisfactory National Police Check (willing to obtain one)
  • Victorian Working with Children Check (willing to obtain one)
  • Victorian Driver’s Licence
  • Valid Practising Membership
  • Successful completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Advanced clinical skills in the assessment and development of interventions for people with disability
