We are seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to assist our growing national transport team. This role provides an opportunity to work with other Engineers including Senior and Principal Engineers and contribute to the growth of the transport team within Tonkin. Our ideal candidate would have 12 to 15 years’ experience in civil/structural engineering with recent experience in bridge design roles, and be comfortable in providing technical expertise to the broader business and leading the structural design of a range of bridge structures.

Where You Are:
We are open to applicants being located in any of our offices around Australia as you will have the opportunity to work on projects throughout Australia, predominately South Australia, Queensland, NSW and Victoria.
What You Bring:
- Relevant qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Civil, Structural).
- CPEng or commitment to attain CPEng
- 12-15 years of professional experience in structural engineering, ideally within a consulting environment.
- Demonstrated experience in bridge analysis and design principles for state and local government agencies or other transport related fields.
- Strong ability to communicate complex engineering concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
- Efficient multi-tasker with a fundamental understanding of project delivery processes.
- Experience with relevant Australian Standards and Industry Design Guides (AS5100, AS1170, AS3600, AS4100 and Austroads Guide to Bridge Technology).
- Proficiency in structural design software (SpaceGass, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design etc.)
Bonus Points:
- Experience leading the delivery of bridge design projects.
- Current RPEQ or RPEng
- Ability to work directly with clients and subconsultants.
- Project management, commercial acumen, and time management skills.
What You'll Do:
- Apply your technical expertise to the design and analysis of a range of bridge structures, ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and regulations
- Provide inputs to other engineers and drafters in producing high-quality structural outputs.
- Collaborate seamlessly with other disciplines to ensure project coordination.
- Deliver well-documented designs, including drawings, specifications, and reports, meeting Tonkin's and client standards.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team, fostering their technical growth and stay abreast of the latest advancements in bridge design and construction technologies.
