About the role
The key objective of the Senior Business Analyst is to provide:
- Provide direction, mentoring and guidance to building business and process analysis frameworks, skills and toolsets that align with MCEC Agile and Project Management frameworks
- Provide business analysis expertise, skills, and techniques to ensure that MCEC business stakeholders maximise technology platforms outcomes to service MCEC customers
- Working in an Agile approach being focused on adaptive planning, early delivery and continuous improvement, all with a view to being able to respond to change as required
This role will include working closely with the key business stakeholders and information Technology team members to bring the team on the journey of extending current capabilities, providing value to business stakeholders, and adding new digital capabilities.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead business analysis services including requirements gathering, use case development and process design
- Translate business requirements into concise stories or use cases that articulate the business needs, process flow and acceptance criteria clearly
- Ensure ongoing business requirement traceability management
- Communicate any dependencies, assumptions, issues, and risks identified through the analysis process
- Provide active stakeholder engagement and facilitation - providing a customer focused approach and outcomes including showcases and demos
- Ensure the provision of support services for new or revised business processes, ongoing application fixes, enhancements, and upgrades to ensure the efficient and effective operation of MCEC services - in alignment with MCEC's Service Catalogue
- Ensure MCEC Squads collaboration to facilitate business outcomes working in an Agile approach including participation in estimation session and clarifying any questions raised and supporting the squads in prioritising the requirements and identifying Quick Wins
- Where required, provide business stakeholder training and change management services
- Manage the management of platform backlog in conjunction with overarching IT team and enterprise prioritization
- Ensure that the team actively grows the business analysis body of knowledge and practice at MCEC
Qualifications, knowledge, and Experience:
Essential
- Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant field
- Effective business stakeholder management and engagement
- Critical thinking bringing the ability to understand and analyze problems and find solutions
- Problem solving with the ability to think creatively and work collaboratively with teams to solve business challenges
- Ability to listen and communicate including requirement gathering, asking the right question, and understanding the information received is essential
- Key documentation skills including use case and business requirements documentation
- High level of verbal and communication skills
- Customer service orientation and empathy
Desirable
- Agile and/or Lean training and/or qualification
- Business Analysis training
- Event Management experience
- Event Management & Business Management system experience
