SENIOR BUTCHER

Are you an experienced Butcher passionate about your trade?  

Hunter Valley Premium Meats is a well-established local family-owned meat wholesale company supplying premium meat products to restaurants and the public across the Newcastle, Hunter Valley and Sydney regions. 

Due to growth and expansion, we have an opportunity for two experienced, reliable, qualified butchers, one as a night shift manager, one as a portion cutter either night or day shifts to join our growing team.

In your role, you will be required to,

• Expertly prepare various cuts of meat according to customer specifications and requirements (predominantly beef, lamb and pork).
• Work safely and systematically within the team, at times leading the team, to meet production targets and fulfill customer orders efficiently.
• Ensure the highest level of product quality and consistency by applying our strict quality control procedures.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of products, equipment and tools.
• Assist in inventory management, ensuring accurate stock levels and minimize waste.
• Work Monday to Friday shifts, (no weekends)

Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience as a butcher, preferably in a wholesale or retail meat environment.
• Experience leading small teams in a similar or relevant environment. 
• Strong knowledge of different cuts of meat and relevant preparation techniques.
• Exceptional knife skills and attention to detail.  
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in relation to meat handling and storage.
