We are seeking a Senior Drainage Design Engineer for our thriving Sydney office to be involved in the technical delivery of a variety of projects. The role will involve the application of technical knowledge of hydrology, hydraulic and Water quality modelling, most specifically 12D and MUSIC, to lead modelling efforts and provide review of model outputs. Identify opportunities and develop the service to clients.
Your duties will include the following:
- Project accountability through project design development and successful delivery to project and client requirements.
- Oversight and coaching of project employees
- Conceptual and detailed design of a range of stormwater infrastructure, including water sensitive urban design (WSUD) elements (eg; GPT, wetlands, raingardens/bioretention basins, detention basins, channels, pit/pipe drainage, flood mitigation/levees).
- Developing information for tender and construction phases of projects, which includes specifications and engineering quantities
- Undertaking site inspections for relevant stormwater projects.
- Producing clear and concise technical reports.
- Liaising with a range of stakeholders including government authority, utility, Water servicing coordinator, landscape architects, clients and other disciplines to ensure design documentation is coordinated and produced to a high standard.
Strong ability to prioritise tasks and multi-task to ensure deadlines are achieved.
To be successful, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, standards and processes
- Knowledge of AutoCAD along with experience in drainage analysis and design software (e.g 12D, MUSIC etc)
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
- Demonstrated experience within Civil Design, with specific project experience across public domain Civil Design, WSUD, and stormwater drainage design
- Public domain grading and earthworks analysis
- Proficiency in 12D and/or Civil 3D software
- Chartered status or working towards chartership
- Flood Modeling assessment (tuflow) experience
