We need your expertise to help us execute our client’s vision.What will you doCore ActivitiesThe core activities of the Senior Civil / Water Resources Engineer’s role are as follows:
- Clients – To understand who the clients are in the Civil and water resources sector, to be able to determine their needs and to then be able to identify how we service them with the solutions that they require.
- Project Management – To manage and direct Haskoning Australia projects, in line with RHDHV guidelines and procedures.
- Advice – To provide high level Civil and water resources engineering advice and solutions to our clients, in line with RHDHV quality standards, whilst ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
- Market knowledge – Ensure that Haskoning Australia stays up-to-date with current developments in the Civil and water resources market and that you are also up-to-date with product knowledge in your own area of expertise and the knowledge is shared.
- Account management – Build and maintain a network of internal and external clients from which opportunities and projects can be acquired.
- Negotiations – lead contract negotiations with clients in line with project scoping, commercial and RHDHV project management guidelines, in order to generate work for self and others.
- Provide technical direction during the initiation, management and supervision of Flooding and Drainage modelling and engineering assignments (including review of other stuff carrying out modelling tasks) in the context of project requirements of delivery on time and within budget, whilst achieving target utilisation. Participate in development of local technical systems and standards, and integration with the broader Royal HaskoningDHV knowledge base.
- Supervise and instruct junior or less experienced engineers and scientists and other sub-professionals (GIS / drafters) in technical modelling assessment and design works as well as assist in professional development.
- Checking and reviewing other engineer’s and scientist’s works, (both inside and outside the firm) as required, ensuring quality deliverables in line with RHDHV’s standards.
- Prepare commercial, technical and financial proposals to undertake Flood and Stormwater Modelling and Design projects, generally related to Civil, flood risk and Drainage Engineering.
- Prepare work plans around undertaking such projects to plan the appropriate level of resources and scheduling to complete the works in the required time frame.
- Conduct appropriate investigations, studies, analyses, concept design and documentation and recommend actions.
- Provide high level technical advice to engineers and scientists from other disciplines and co-ordinate the activities of other scientists, engineers and designers.
- Undertake all office and company procedures necessary for the company to properly conduct its business (completing time sheets, leave applications, job records, invoicing).
- Develop new business for the Rivers and Water Management team and other parts of the Haskoning Australia business (i.e. winning work for yourself and others), through interaction with clients including strong face to face engagement.
- To manage and run a number of high profile client accounts in our key sectors. You will be expected to maximize the market value from these clients through constant account management techniques.
- Build and maintain a high level of client relations also at a strategic/decision making level.
- Mentor and share knowledge internally and keep up to date on all new ways of working.
- Highly effective technical and practical scientific and engineering skills in the relevant disciplines
- Have experience in and have recently completed Flood Impact Assessments (particularly using the TUFLOW software programme), Drainage system analysis and design (DRAINS / MUSIC), input in these technical disciplines in larger multi-disciplinary projects
