About the Role:
As the Senior Clinical Psychologist for the Child Assessment Team, your duties may include:
- Providing a specialist clinical psychology assessment, diagnostic and consultancy service to the CAT.
- Being an authority on the assessment and treatment of specialist clinical areas such as autism spectrum disorder, global developmental delay, intellectual disability, and specific learning disorders.
- Contributing to the establishment of cooperative links between the Children's Assessment Team (CAT) and Community Agencies which provide services to children with developmental disabilities, by acting as a consultant on complex cases and contributing to the development of allied health knowledge and policies in the field of child development.
- Undertaking psychological assessment of individuals using a range of diagnostic techniques and tools, including scoring and interpreting psychological and neuropsychological test data.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and general registration with PsyBA.
- Endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia for approved area of clinical practice- Clinical Psychology.
- Previous experience in assessment and management of neurodevelopmental disorders.
- Demonstrated problem solving, decision making and organisational abilities including the ability to work under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
This is a 2 day per week role working 2 days of Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Preference is given to a clinician with experience in assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions in children (AHP3).
Consideration may be given to clinicians at AHP2 level currently training or willing to take on training in this area.
