- This program supervises the monitoring and direct treatment of clients placed on a Non-Custodial Supervision Order under the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997. Mental health treatment of Non-Custodial Supervision Order clients is largely undertaken by area mental health services. Clinicians working in the program provide supervision, liaison, education, and clinical consultation to area mental health services to assist with the management of clients on these orders. Forensicare has a formal statewide supervisory role in ensuring compliance with court-ordered conditions.
- Support the coordinated supervision of clients subject to a Non-Custodial Supervision Order (NCSO) under the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act throughout Victoria. The incumbent will ensure that forensic mental health issues are adequately addressed and that Forensicare maintains a high standard of service through primary and secondary consultation and advice to Area Mental Health Services (AMHS) and other treating services.
- Demonstrated commitment to mental health consumer recovery and incorporating consumer perspectives into service delivery.
- Possess a relevant tertiary qualification and registration or membership with the appropriate Board or Association as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist.
- If a psychologist, completion of a master's or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent or a Doctorate degree in Forensic psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent, endorsement or eligibility for endorsement by the Psychology Board of Australia in the area of clinical psychology, and endorsement or eligibility for endorsement by the Psychology Board of Australia, in the area of forensic psychology.
- Demonstrated minimum 5 years post-registration mental health experience.
- Experience in undertaking comprehensive psychosocial and risk assessments and planning, implementing and evaluating clinical mental health interventions.
- Knowledge of forensic mental health and forensic mental health risk assessment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills include consulting, liaising, facilitating and negotiating with key stakeholders, mental health professionals, clients, and carers.
- The ability to function as an independent and autonomous professional as well as working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and service context, including the Mental Health Act 2014, Sentencing Act 1991, the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997, and the criminal justice system.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent with a minimum 4 years clinical experience.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).

- Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.

- Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited course or equivalent, or a Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
- The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredential.
- Approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
