About the Organisational Development team:

Our team is focused on continuing to grow and enhance the organisation’s ability to care for and provide services to WA’s young people and the broader community. We identify emerging trends and benchmarks in organisational effectiveness and the healthcare industry to ensure we are able to support our workforce to be ‘future fit’. We also collaborate with leaders to design and deliver programs and initiatives designed to build and enhance employee experience and capability, and fostering an engaging organisational culture.

Position Profile and Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in fostering a positive and adaptive work environment, ensuring that our organisation remains contemporary, resilient, and responsive to the current and emerging needs of our workforce and the children and families in our care.

Reporting to the Manager of Culture and Inclusion, you will have significant influence on steering and enabling workforce development and enhancement as well as organisational cultural change. You will formulate, design, and execute OD frameworks and initiatives, aligned to building high performing teams, leading culture enhancement, embedding change and ensuring a positive employee experience. A focus on enhancing employee performance, motivation, and engagement will be at the heart of all your work.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Applying critical thinking to complex organisational matters regarding employee engagement and workforce culture, to develop practical initiatives and plans to deliver outcomes.
  • Developing and executing strategic workforce projects using strong project and stakeholder management principles to deliver outcomes that add value in line with CAHS’ strategic objectives
  • Analysing team and leadership capabilities, identifying gaps, and implementing targeted programs to support teams on their high-performance journey.
  • Facilitating meaningful organisational change in collaboration with HR Business Partners, leaders, and teams.
  • Supporting major projects and ensuring effective delivery; with oversight from the Executive Sub-Committee for People and Performance.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of OD initiatives, leveraging data for improvements.
  • Managing external providers and associated service contracts.

About CAHS:

The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) is proud to be the leading service provider for paediatric healthcare in Western Australia, as the State’s only dedicated health service for infants, children and young people. CAHS comprises four service areas: Neonatology, Community Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH).

With over 6500 employees, our services are delivered at PCH and King Edward Memorial Hospitals (KEMH), as well as across a network of more than 160 community clinics across the Perth metropolitan area.

Eligibility to Apply: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.

Other Conditions: WA Health engages staff in positions of trust and responsibility. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service.
