As part of our ongoing growth, and to help our clients address complex procurement and supply chain challenges, we are looking for talented, energised, and enthusiastic people with experience in major capital project procurement to join our team.
As a Senior Consultant within our team based in Sydney, you will be the kind of person who enjoys setting up and executing procurement strategies on complex projects in the infrastructure construction, energy, renewables or mining sectors.
We believe project success comes down to engaging and motivating teams; whether that’s in contractors and suppliers, within our clients, or within our own organisation.
Job Description
- Provide a leading role in a client procurement team responsible for advising and supporting the procurement of multi-million-dollar packages on large construction projects in sectors including energy, mining, or commercial property construction
- Offer clients strong contract knowledge from initial set up to managing variations and claims.
- Support clients with contract formation, contract administration, contract negotiations and claims support.
- Work collaboratively with the client and other consultants at all project stages.
- Manage tender processes from conception through to contract award
- Make the difference with current and new clients by identifying new ways we can help deliver improved procurement and project outcomes
- Critically analyse how clients are delivering projects and procurement activities to identify opportunities for improvement
- Contribute to the business success of the Organisation by assisting in the areas of submissions, fee bidding, and financial management and reporting, budgeting, and business planning.
Qualifications
- Professionally qualified in one of the following fields: procurement (e.g. CIPS), construction, cost management, engineering or project management.
- Commercial Management experience preferably gained within the construction and major capital project environment.
- A strong and demonstrable experience in providing procurement and contract administration advice
- Comfortable managing relationships and reporting directly into the client and their key stakeholder group at both project and program level.
- Business development experience or aptitude is a preference.
- Experience of working within a client-focused consultancy environment is desirable.
- Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills– MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint with excellent writing and authoring skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels
- Excellent verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to engage others in ideas and concepts.
- Strong time management skills, quick thinking and resilience to deal with a fast paced and often ambiguous environment
