This is a leading environmental consultancy firm based in Surry Hills, Sydney, dedicated to providing innovative solutions in Contaminated Land management. With a strong commitment to excellence and sustainability, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Contaminated Land Advisor to join the team. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and profitability of our business nationwide, beginning with a focus on NSW.
Role Overview: As the Senior Contaminated Land Advisor (SCLA), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and driving business growth in the field of Contaminated Land management. Working directly with senior management, you will be responsible for leading and managing key aspects of business development, project management, and client relations.
Key Responsibilities:
General:
  • Manage tendering processes for Contaminated Land Advisory (CLA) work.
  • Drive business development initiatives to expand our client base and market presence.
  • Facilitate effective communication of project matters with clients and suppliers.
  • Establish and maintain Libraries for efficient knowledge management.
Business Development:
  • Attend industry networking events to foster relationships and identify opportunities.
  • Deliver presentations at conferences and industry events to showcase company expertise.
  • Lead meetings and presentations to prospective clients, demonstrating value proposition.
Planning:
  • Develop optimized remediation strategies for clients, considering cost and risk factors.
  • Review environmental reports and remediation documents, providing expert advice.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and assessment of tender submissions.
  • Undertake quantitative and qualitative risk assessments to inform project planning.
Procurement:
  • Assist in preparing pre-tender estimates and feasibility reports for remediation works.
  • Participate in the preparation, review, and assessment of Requests for Tender (RFT).
  • Support the development of probabilistic modeling using tools
  • Engage in commercial and contract negotiations to secure favorable terms.
Construction/Contract Administration:
  • Act as the principals representative and/or Superintendent on construction projects.
  • Provide project reporting and oversee contract administration functions.
  • Manage commercial matters, including claims, disputes, and subcontract agreements.
  • Attend client meetings and lead commercial negotiations to resolve issues.
Post Construction:
  • Assist in preparing Expert Reports and supporting clients in dispute resolution processes.
  • Conduct post-contract completion reviews, analyze results, and implement corrective actions.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Contaminated Land management or related field.
  • Strong background in business development, project management, and client relations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in tendering processes, procurement, and contract administration.
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.
