Our Property Development and Transactions legal team has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Conveyancing Officerto join the team and be responsible for ensuring the successful transaction of all land acquisitions and disposals on behalf of the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure.

In your role as the Senior Conveyancing Officer, you will be the key contact and manage all acquisitions and disposals of land for the various agencies. This will include attending program coordination meetings with clients to ensure milestones are being efficiently and effectively met, manage all aspects of coordinating the execution of off-the-plan and individual contracts, assist in training and supervising junior legal officers on the conveyancing process and provide administrative assistance where required to support the Legal team.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in the provision of conveyancing services. Through this experience, you will have a sound knowledge and understanding of current legislation relating to ensure the efficient and accurate completion of your conveyancing duties. You will be an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with exceptional attention to detail and ability to liaise and build strong professional relationships with various stakeholders.

You will also have strong organisation and time management skills and can confidently work in a fast-paced environment, with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that matters are actioned efficiently and by required deadlines.

Key knowledge and experience

  • Sound knowledge and understanding of current legislation, including but not limited to Conveyancing Act 1919 (NSW) and Real Property Act 1900 (NSW).
  • Experience in the provision of paralegal services involving a range of legal activities including conveyancing and related activities.
  • Understanding the importance of maintaining confidential and privileged information in an appropriate manner.
  • Sound knowledge in using the PEXA platform.
