Olives Pakistani Cuisine (OPC) is an established traditional Pakistani restaurant located in Blair Athol SA, looking for two Senior cooks specialising in Traditional Pakistani cuisine.
The RoleWe are looking for experienced Senior Cooks x 2 who will be responsible for ensuring that the standard and quality of the food production and the hygiene within the department are maintained at the highest level. This role is hands-on, requiring attention to detail, dedication, and a positive work attitude.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- All aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presenting dishes according to our restaurant guidelines/customer preferences, including updating menus.
- Liaise with kitchen staff, food service staff, and restaurant management regarding customer orders and general service of kitchen operations.
- Maintain a safe and hygienic working environment to include proper food storage, equipment, utensils, and implements, prevention of working environment hazards and accidents at work, following an accident, first aid, and emergency procedures.
- Abiding by all legal requirements, food hygiene regulations, and food safety laws.
- Cleaning, sanitising, and disinfecting all kitchen areas following daily scheduled tasks of hygiene requirements.
- Attend all meetings and training sessions, as requested.
- General kitchen staff supervision and training.
- Supervising the new trainees throughout their traineeship.
Qualifications & ExperienceYears of Experience: Minimum of three years of experience is compulsory in the relevant position and must have knowledge of cooking traditional Pakistani dishes.
Education: Skill assessment or equal qualification in the relevant field.Other skills & knowledge include:
- Have a track record of supervising kitchen staff effectively.
- Be highly skilled in cooking and preparing Pakistani cuisine.
- Have excellent communication and organisation skills.
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be dedicated to food quality and control.
- Have strong knowledge of proper food handling.
