Located in the Northern Territory, Central Desert Regional Council communities are spread over 282,000kms.
Every community is unique in their own way, spread over a vast area, Central Desert Regional Council have a population of over 4000 residents (84% indigenous).
We are remote! Yes we said it again because you might have missed it the first time.
The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Risk and Work Health and Safety this role will contribute to the provision of a healthy and safe workplace and culture by coordinating the development, implementation, monitoring and review of Council’s Risk and WHS frameworks to deliver value to Council in accordance with Central Desert Regional Council strategic and regional plans, policies and relevant legislation.
Keys to your success
- Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of Council’s safety management system.
- Support the implementation and application of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
- Support an effective internal audit function, internal control review and compliance framework review.
- Maintain monitoring systems and associated reporting to identify trends, critical incidents and areas of high risk.
- Contribute to the planning, development and facilitation of WHS related training to promote compliance across Council.
- Contribute to the implementation of Council’s Return to Work Program.
- Apply a continuous improvement framework to the Council’s safety management system and associated actions.
- Provide accurate and consistent advice including WHS and Risk best practices.
