We are currently seeking:Senior Cost Planner / Estimator.
About the role:
- Program and calculate competitive cost estimates for selected tenders using costing and programming software.
- Develop, maintain a resource cost & productivity rate library of techniques, application and materials and industry benchmarks for tenders and then cross check and update them against actuals.
- Assist in the development of technical solutions and Prelim Methodology for selected tenders.
- Assist in the preparation of tender submissions in accordance with the companies procedures.
- Assist in tendering and business development activities (conferences, showcases) when available.
About you:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or equivalent sectors.
- A minimum of 15 years in general civil construction activities which could include: earthworks / roads; form-reinforce-pour activities; structural remediation / repair; precasting; post tensioned structures etc.
- Desirable to have at least 10 years' estimating experience in general construction activities in a variety of contractual delivery models such as: Construct Only, Design & Construct, Managing Contract, Alliance, Joint Ventures & PPP Contract types.
- Competent English Language skills, communication skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to read, understand and organize construction plans and standards/specifications.
- Strong organizational and problem solving skills.
- Strong ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure to meet established deadlines.
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a team to develop and submit winning tenders.
- Flexibility to work across internal department business lines / sectors in various office / site location as required / requested.
- Willingness to travel, locally, regionally, interstate and international as deemed necessary for the submissions of tenders.
- Multi-disciplinary estimating experience.
- Advanced financial management skills.
- Advanced skills in computer software packages such as Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Project) along with database software such as Expert Estimator etc.
- OHS Construction “White Card”.
- Australian Drivers Licence.
- Valid work permit.
