ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Senior Data and Reporting Analyst will be responsible for initiatives that enhance data quality, data profiling and interpretation, data sharing, reporting and adherence to business intelligence development standards and guidelines.  It will be focused on efficiency in data management and use of data insights. 

This role will be instrumental in translating raw data into meaningful insights and actionable reports. Gathering, modelling, analysing, and interpreting data from various sources to produce comprehensive reports that aid in decision-making processes and drive business improvements.  It will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their reporting needs and deliver accurate, timely, and visually appealing reports. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Meet with user groups to gather and analyse end-user requirements.
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies to optimize efficiency and data quality.
  • Identify and suggest potential improvements in reporting processes, including automating tasks and functions where possible.
  • Perform data cleansing and validation to guarantee data integrity.
  • Design, develop, and maintain a variety of reports and dashboards in PowerBI and Excel that provide insights on KPIs, customer behaviour, operational metrics and other relevant business metrics.
  • Analyse trends, patterns, and anomalies in data to identify opportunities for improvement and growth strategies.
  • Develop detailed requirements documents for data onboarding and modelling by analysing and unravelling existing or required data assets 
  • Develop specification documents, working with technical team members to advise data model designs which allow complex data reporting and analysis whilst ensuring data confidentiality
  • Support the business to identify the root cause of data issues and work with the relevant teams to resolve/address; build new data requirements 
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  • Maintain and continuously improve existing dashboards and reports, in line with industry trends and contemporary practice for Data and analytics.
  • Assist management along with other senior employees in activities such as data collection, processing and Reporting
  • Coordinate reports once compiled to ensure timely delivery to clients
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to drive continuous business improvement
  • Anticipate issues that may impact delivery and work with others to mitigate the risk

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ experience in an analytics role, with demonstratable experienced in SQL, Power BI, SSIS, Excel and other similar data management & reporting technologies.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Commerce, IT, IS or related discipline.
  • Extensive experience in developing interactive dashboards in Power BI
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Business/report writing skills - Essential.
  • Effective time management and self-discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in working with large datasets. 
  • Ability to work promptly and efficiently to deliver reports and analyses on time consistently.
