• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $120,859 to $133,183 + super

Valuation NSW is looking to appoint Senior Data Scientist in newly formed Privacy & Data team to lead and deliver a range of complex data analytics, visualisation, modelling and reporting to inform strategic and operational decision making. In this role, you will also be responsible for driving improvements to data quality, capture, governance and provision, ensuring legislative compliance to meet business objectives.
About You
In this role, you will lead and deliver complex data analytics to inform strategic and operational d decision making. We are looking for those skilled in managing and analysing large, varied datasets, designing statistical analyses, and using predictive models to identify risks and trends. Experience in exploratory data analysis and Power BI development is a plus. A key focus is a mindset for continuous improvement, with an emphasis on automating processes for efficiency.
Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in data science, statistics, business intelligence, analytics, information technology or equivalent experience.
• Current drivers' license and willingness to travel.

About Us
Valuation NSW (VNSW) provides services to, supports, and where appropriately delegated, delivers relevant functions on behalf of the Valuer General of NSW.
This includes:

• Defining and setting the standards and policies for the land valuation system for rating and taxation purposes along with the determination of compensations through the compulsory acquisition process to ensure integrity within the NSW Government is upheld.
• Making valuations as well as monitoring, assurance and governance pertaining to the quality of the valuations undertaken relevant to both the Valuation of Land Act 1916 and the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991.
• Completing land valuations and determinations of compensation; and
• Providing other specialised valuation activities, services and determinations as and when required for other cluster or state-wide government partners.
