What you’ll deliver with us
As our Senior Data Technology Specialist (GCP Platform), you’ll support, develop, manage and operate our enterprise advanced data analytics technology platform specifically, Google Cloud Platform, ensuring the products are maintained to deliver efficient and effective services for our enterprise data community, all aligned towards delivering Australia Post's strategic goals of Supporting our People, Delighting our Communities & Customers, and Creating a Sustainable Future.
As a Senior Data Technology Specialist, this role will support, identify and implement best-practice application administration, upgrades, access controls and standards, with a focus on increasing the reliability, availability, accessibility, currency, and security of our enterprise data tools; prioritising cloud-first, self-service enablement.
Maintaining our most critical data analytics infrastructure, this role will help to deliver cost effective, impactful Data Technology services that help to unlock data solutions for our enterprise. Delivering leading edge capability for cloud data engineering, business analytics and visualisation.
This role will also look to operationalise these platforms to enable service automation and optimisation, including cloud Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and observability \ monitoring.
Please note: This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office.
You’ll need
- Experience working in very large complex organisations. Ideally postal service, logistics, transport, major retail, eCommerce or adjacent industry.
- Knowledge of supporting productionised, scaled, maintained, and monitored data platforms.
- Familiarity with software engineering DevOps practices supporting enterprise production standards.
- Experience participating in data governance, data architecture and data strategy for very large complex enterprises.
- Experience using Google Cloud Platform (preferably) or other equivalent cloud platform to provision Data platforms using Infrastructure as Code.
- Manage and maintain version/image, library, plugin and product updates (including preventative maintenance).
- User Access (IAM) - Resource Level.
- Manage and maintain CI/CD platform and processes - including technologies such as Cloud SDK, Cloud Build, Cloud Tasks, Artifact Registry, Gitlab.
- Knowledge of object-oriented language paradigms and software engineering skills.
- Python and Java.
- Understanding of SQL (BigQuery), database optimisation, scripting and ETL approaches.
- Understanding of data orchestration and workflow pipeline engineering technologies. (Composer, Dataflow etc).
- Strong understanding of code versioning, collaboration, testing, reliability, and accessibility, technologies and standards.
