Senior Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Database Administrator to join our clients team and ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our clients database systems.Note: Hourly contract role through to June 2025Key Responsibilities:

• Design, install, and manage large-scale corporate databases.
• Ensure the security and confidentiality of data by implementing and maintaining robust access controls.
• Install, configure, and manage database software and related tools.
• Develop and execute high availability and disaster recovery strategies.
• Perform regular backups, recoveries, monitoring, tuning, cloning, scripting, patching, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to foster effective working relationships.
• Handle daily operational tasks and participate in project work as needed.
• Participate in a rotating on-call roster, including after-hours and weekends.

Experience:

• Extensive experience working with enterprise databases.
• Proven track record in designing, installing, and managing large corporate databases.
• Expertise in database security and access controls.
• Proficiency in installing, configuring, and managing database software.
• Strong skills in developing high availability strategies, performing backups/recoveries, and database monitoring.
• Experience managing a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile/SCRUM methodologies is desirable.
• Experience supporting Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB with Galera Clusters, or other enterprise databases.
