About Dental Health Services Victoria
Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) was established in 1996 and is the leading public oral health agency in Victoria. We aim to improve the oral health of all Victorians, particularly vulnerable groups and those most in need. DHSV is funded by the State Government to provide clinical dental services to eligible Victorians.
We help to provide Victorians with quality oral healthcare through The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne (RDHM) and by purchasing dental services for public patients from more than 50 community health agencies throughout Victoria.
About the role
We have an exciting part-time opportunity for a Senior Clinical Dental Assistant to work in Emergency Services at The Royal Dental Hospital of Melbourne. You will be providing daily support to the Team Leader by supervising the clinical team, assist and/or monitoring complex patient assessments. You will be required to work a rotational roster of ordinary hours between 7.45am to 5.00pm (fortnightly) on a Saturday and Sunday.
Your responsibilities will include:
- In collaboration with the Primary Care Senior Clinical Dental Assistant and Dental Assistant Coach you will ensure all operational issues are resolved and established deadlines are met
- Be highly involved with the implementation of new models of care and RDHM projects
- Preparing rosters, ordering and managing consumables, producing monthly budget reports
- Actively lead the daily team huddle meetings
To be successful in this role you will need:
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Dental Assistant
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting and Certificate IV in Dental Assisting or Training and Assessment
- Experience in managing clinical staff
- Strong knowledge of patient care processes, techniques and terminology within an oral health environment
- Broad understanding of Emergency Departments
