About the role:
As a Lead OutSystems Software Engineer, you will have the crucial role of designing and building the application framework whilst mentoring the team and championing our standards. As a Lead OutSystems Engineer, your duties will include:

* Working with a variety of leaders, including police from across the organisation, our intelligence practitioners, and senior management.
* Design, develop and implement technology solutions,
* Work collaboratively with internal teams.
* Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
* Work on bug fixing, improving code quality and application performance.
* Write clear technical documentation.
* Engage in continuous improvement of all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
* Mentor and coach junior developers and team members as needed.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

* 5+ years of experience in software development in designing and developing enterprise applications with at least 3+ years of solid experience in designing and developing enterprise applications using OutSystems or other BPA platforms.
* Proficiency in web and mobile application development using OutSystems.
* Familiar with microservices architecture and experienced in AWS cloud services.
* Knowledge of object-oriented design and design patterns, and programming skills.
* Experience in designing and implementing APIs and Microservices.
* Knowledge of and experience with Frontend technologies is also desirable.
* Experience with relational/non-relational databases.
* Experience with container technologies (Docker or similar) is also desirable.
* Interested in growing as a software engineer participating actively in the whole development lifecycle.
* Bachelor's degree in management information systems, computer science, information technology, or other related field required.

Requirements and relevant information:

* One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
* VPSG6 salary range $130,673 - $174,869 p.a. plus superannuation.
* This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
* The successful applicant will be required to undergo National Security Vetting, achieve and maintain a security classification as determined by the Department Head. To achieve this, applicants must be an Australian Citizen. (Australian Citizenship is a must. PR not sufficient)
* The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
