The Health Capital Division (HCD) delivers end-to-end capital infrastructure processes, including all capital planning, business cases, construction and maintenance programs across the health system. HCD works in partnership with the Hospital and Health Services (HHSs), the broader Department of Health, other government agencies and the construction sector to achieve value for money infrastructure outcomes that service the needs of Queensland communities. The Division is client focused and tailors its support to the individual needs of the HHS partners.
The role
Reporting to the Executive Director of Infrastructure Planning & Delivery, this key role will lead contract management and performance of both contractors and consultants across a significant pipeline of projects in Queensland.
In this role, you will provide your leadership and expert contract management skills to ensure on time and on budget delivery of quality projects and the overall Health Capital Division program. Leading a multi-disciplinary team within a complex health environment, you will drive high-performance and resolve complex contractual issues through effective contract management and ensuring the ongoing application of the Contract Management Framework.
In addition, this role is focused on strategic stakeholder engagement, liaising with the Contracts and Procurement team to drive innovation and continual improvement in HCD's engagements with industry to develop and improve these important relationships.
The successful person
The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership experience in contract management activities, including leading resolution of complex contractual issues within a capital program setting. You will have the ability to engage with a broad range of Government and industry representatives and will communicate with influence to achieve outcomes on often complex matters.
Your proven ability to lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team while adhering to quality contract management practices is crucial. Additionally, your highly developed interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, especially at a senior executive level, will be essential in working collaboratively with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners to enable the delivery on an on time, on budget quality program.
