Form of workWe are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Director to join the Human Resources Advisory Services unit based in Brisbane CBD. Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer, you will form part of the Department’s HR leadership team and will be responsible for leading the provision of dedicated HR Advisory Services to key clients within the Department of Health.
As the Senior Director, you will lead a team of HR professionals and play a crucial role in the provision and delivery of operational and Advisory Services in HR, employee relations, industrial relations, work health and safety, injury management, recruitment services and myHR service support. Additionally, you will ensure the necessary human resource management structures, service models and skill sets are in place so managers at all levels across the department receive expert, practical and timely workforce management advice, guidance, and coaching. Lead and facilitate the resolution of complex, time critical, contentious and/or confidential human resource issues so the provision of services to customers is maintained and improved.
The successful person
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of contemporary and best practice human resource management functions and service delivery models. Your ability in the management of, and accountability for, HR Advisory Services within a large, complex organisation will be of high standards. You will also have:
- Ability to provide expertise and advice to a range of stakeholders, business partners and executive leadership members
- Considerable skill in leading and influencing diverse teams, to achieve multi-disciplinary contribution to performance and outcomes
- Highly developed interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills at a senior level and achievements in cultivating productive working relationships, partnerships and teamwork
- High level written communication skills
- A high level of professional integrity and commitment to public service values
The Corporate Services Division (CSD) provides a wide range of enabling and business support services to the Department of Health. Focussing on delivering essential corporate services in partnership to enable a high performing Queensland health system, the CSD is responsible for major corporate functions including finance, human resources, legal, audit, risk and assurance, governance, business enhancement, procurement and supply chain.
