The Role
Due to our healthy pipeline of projects, we are looking to hire a Senior Distribution Engineer / designer to complement our highly skilled design and engineering team at our Burswood office. The office is located close to the Perth CBD, however, with easy access and free parking nearby.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Overhead distribution design modelling 415V to 33kV
- Underground distribution extensions
- Underground distribution network upgrades
- Preparation of design packages for client approval
- Preparation Bills of materials and estimation
- Training and support of junior team members
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Apply content and application of local utility standards
- Demonstrate design innovation and cost optimization as part of the design process
- Site inspections including:
- Scoping notes
- Survey
- Soil resistivity measurements
Your Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or minimum 2 – 5 years industry experience
- Demonstrated experience with power utilities (Western Power / Horizon Power)
- Skills to work independently
- Proficient with Western Power distribution design software
- CAD Software proficiency in MicroStation
Candidates must be able to bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking and be prepared to work outside of their comfort zone.
