The opportunity
In this role, join us in being a part of our vision to support our communities to thrive, now and in the future. Day to day you will collaborate closely with various teams across the business from operations to project delivery, to external partners such as Dam Safety Consultants and Government bodies, to ensure our processes deliver the safe operation of our dams.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to support and meet service obligations and statutory requirements for dam safety.
- Be responsible for the implementation of a program of works with inputs and assistance from planning, operations, delivery, and compliance to deliver Capital and operational projects for dams' asset management activities.
- Complete regular reviews and analysis of inspection reports, annual dam safety inspections, dam safety studies including Dam Break and Consequence Assessment (CCA), Risk Assessment, and Dam Safety Review (DSR) reports in accordance with the Australian National Committee on Large Dams (ANCOLD) Guidelines.
- Developing solutions, preparation of evidence-based business cases/project plans for risk mitigation action plans.
- Be responsible for effective reporting of expenditure and activities across all Opex and Capex programs.
Seek out innovative and efficient opportunities to deliver Dam safety actions.
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering
- Experience and knowledge of the Asset Life Cycle Management for Dams and Storage Reservoirs
- Sophisticated analytical and well-developed problem-solving skills
- Engaging and effective communication skills complemented by a flair for building great relationships
- Demonstrated ability to work with limited direction and display a self-managed proactive approach to resolving complex issues
