Natura Pacific’s overarching business operates as a social enterprise. We provide highly qualified ecological services and purposely re-invest a portion of those profits into our own environmental outreach and education initiatives.
Our professional team are adept at resolving matters of complex environmental constraints and bridging the gap between community, developers, Councils and legislative architecture. Foundational services include environmental planning, vegetation and fauna plans, survey, audits and assessments.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Senior Environmental Consultant located in Burleigh Heads, Qld . The role will provide a mix of field and office based project management tasks. Fieldwork and site meetings will comprise approximately one day per week.
You will manage client projects with high level responsibilities that include:
- Defining project outcomes, assessing methodologies, championing work product and the compilation of final reports
- Managing project budgets, specifying project deliverables and negotiating timelines
- Developing environmental management plans relating to fauna, botany and flora disciplines including co-ordinating the input of our team of specialists
- Mapping and analysis using ArcGIS
- Furnishing of final reports to clients, submission to prevailing authorities and provision of supplementary ecological advice
- Communication with clients and third parties to negotiate successful project outcomes
- Peer review and input for the work project of other team members
- Mentoring and skill development for key staff and graduates
- Managing shared resources and work in hand utilising project management software
- Working closely with our team of scientists, educators, and staff to ensure the successful delivery of projects and programs
Qualifications
- Over 5 years experience in ecological consulting and environmental management in Queensland
- Knowledge of Queensland government regulations and policies related to the environment
- Strong project management and organisational skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and contribute in a positive way to team culture
- Have a mindset to identify new business opportunities
- Ability to write compelling, successful proposals and business cases
- Demonstrable skills in building and maintaining client relationships
- Passion and creativity to fit in within social enterprise ideals and desired outcomes
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
- Experience with GIS software
