Summary

You will support us to ensure our environmental footprint is reduced and its application within the organisation across the entire value chain is delivered. You will be instrumental in the assessment of organisational performance and build Environmental Sustainability capability.

The Role & The Team

As a Senior Environment & Sustainability Specialist you will form an integral part of the Environment and Sustainability team and be required to collaborate with other team members to deliver on our overall strategic objectives and ensure continuous improvement. We are a high-performing and accountable team, that contribute towards delivering Airservices' record of Safety, Environmental, WHS, Risk and Compliance excellence.

  • Support the design and implementation of Environmental Sustainability systems.
  • Assist in implementing the Airservices Climate Change Strategy.
  • Aid in delivering the Airservices Environmental Sustainability Strategy.
  • Integrate sustainability into operational activities and project management.
  • Facilitate carbon accounting and reporting systems.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal and regulatory sustainability requirements.
  • Foster a climate of environmental innovation within the business.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for sustainability improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to embed sustainability into projects.
  • Manage contracts with financial responsibility and sustainability in mind.
  • Ensure compliance with governance systems and contribute to reporting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System.

The Person

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Management or Science (or equivalent) with 5 years of industry experience.
  • Certification in ESG frameworks and reporting (Desirable).
  • Strong technical ESG accounting and reporting skills especially with regards to Carbon Accounting.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisation, and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing new processes and tools for automation to enhance continuous improvement in environmental management.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management skills both internally and externally.
  • Experience implementing Climate Change and Sustainability programs in organisations.
  • Capacity-building in Sustainability for management and staff.
  • Leadership in digital solutions and automated assurance processes.
  • Collaborative implementation of fit-for-purpose solutions.
