The Role:

We are looking for an experienced Civil/construction Estimator to join us at our Canberra office on a Full time basis.  

Your day-to-day duties will include building tenders, working alongside subcontractors and suppliers, liaising with clients and submission creation. 

The estimator role serves as a vital function in the growth of our business.  You will be expected to perform a key role within a high performing multidisciplinary civil construction estimating team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of detailed estimates in accordance with company standard operating procedures 
• Use estimating methods to achieve set goals of winning contracts that are profitable and within the company’s strategy.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with existing and new clients, sub-contractors and other specialist trades and suppliers.
• Proactively engage and brief all relevant parties to assess documentation and establish total outturn costs, delivery expectations and ensure all deadlines are met.
• Communicate and work with clients for each bid to obtain all details for accurate estimating.
• Prepare and submit tenders within client timeframe 
• Follow up on submitted tenders to track outcomes
• Support and mentor junior staff

To be considered for this role you will need to have the following:

• Experience in preparing bids/estimating (6+ years)
• First principles estimating experience required
• The ability to foster strong client relationships
• Proven ability to meet strict deadlines
• Strong organisation, negotiation, and communication skills 
• Strong technical knowledge, analytical skills and has exceptional knowledge in Civil demolition, earthworks, stormwater drainage, pavements and concrete structure works
• Proficiency in computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD
• Site experience would be preferred
