The Role

Off the back of recent tendering within the Federal Government sector we are currently seeking expressions of interest for a Senior Facilities Manager and a Facilities Manager for a nationwide portfolio of government assets. The role will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and operations of client sites including all budgeting, vendor management and strategic planning.

Location –flexible

Responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Leading a team of maintenance technicians and other facility personnel. Providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Developing and implementing maintenance plans for buildings, equipment, and grounds. This includes scheduling and prioritising maintenance tasks, coordinating with internal departments and external vendors, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Budgeting and financial management - Managing the facilities department budget, including forecasting and tracking expenses, negotiating contracts with vendors, and identifying cost-saving measures.
  • Strategic planning - Developing long-term plans and strategies for facility improvements and upgrades to efficiency, sustainability, and productivity.
  • Compliance and safety management - Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to building codes, safety standards, and environmental policies.
  • Working collaboratively with internal CBRE teams, external contractors, Property Managers, and safety officers.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and managing quality assurance procedures.
  • Preparing ad-hoc and consolidated monthly reports to detail project statuses, pipelines and any issues.

Requirements

  • Strong Facilities Manager background and experience managing contractors.
  • Strong understanding of financials, specifically budget preparation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and a proactive, enthusiastic, and collaborative attitude.
  • Good working knowledge of essential hard services.
  • Drivers' License is required, and ability to travel occasionally as required.
